Protecting your card information is essential and is our top priority.
Cledara employs strict security measures to safeguard your physical card details within the PCI DSS environment.
What is the PCI DSS environment?
The PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) environment follows PCI security standards, including encryption, security measures, access controls, regular monitoring, and vulnerability management. This ensures that your data remains confidential and protected against fraud and security breaches.
In line with these security standards, Cledara does not store your card details. Your card information is accessed directly from the PCI DSS environment when you request it and is available only to authorised users.
Despite this, vulnerabilities may still exist outside this controlled environment. This article addresses:
- How to prevent fraudulent transactions
- How to identify suspicious activities
- What to do if your card is compromised
- How to recoup lost funds
Best practices to prevent fraudulent transactions
Here are the best practices to protect your cards and accounts with Cledara:
Do not copy your card details out of the PCI DSS environment in Cledara.
Avoid saving card details on websites that you do not frequently use.
Do not share your card details with anyone, including Cledara Support.
Frequently check your transaction history for any unusual or unauthorised activity.
What should I look out for?
Here are the common scenarios in which you should review your transactions and take proactive steps to prevent financial loss:
Your card is used to make transactions that you do not recognise.
Your card created for one use case is being used for a different one.
A vendor that you have paid for with Cledara experiences a security breach.
What do I do if I spot an unrecognised transaction?
If you suspect that your card has been compromised, or if your vendor has let you know that they have experienced a security breach, here are the steps to safeguard your assets:
- Disable your card immediately.
- If you suspect a Cledara user's account has been compromised, reset their password or disable their user.
- Review the transactions with your Admins.
- Report your suspicion to support@cledara.com.
How do I recoup the funds?
We encourage you to always reach out to the merchant to see if they have any refund policies for compromised accounts and fraudulent transactions.
Cledara can help you raise a chargeback case to dispute a fraudulent transaction. Please note that chargeback claims can take 3 months to resolve, and failed claims will incur a £30 fee for each disputed transaction.
Transactions may not be eligible for certain chargeback rights if the transaction was authorised through 3DS.
