What are soft limits?

When setting up the payment options for a new app, you will have the possibility of selecting a “soft limit” (available for the Standard plan and above).

By setting it up this way, the payment for that subscription will go through regardless of whether it is within the budget or it exceeds it.

Do note that there must be enough funds available in your main account for the payment to take place.

This option is great for critical subscriptions; let’s say that if the payment for Amazon Web Services is declined your website won’t work. That would be a huge inconvenience, wouldn’t it?

If you select a soft limit and for some reason for one billing cycle you have to pay twice the amount you had forecasted, the payment will go through.

You will also receive a notification letting you know about this payment that was made exceeding the budget set.
