Switch your 2FA method

There are 2 ways to complete the second-factor authentication upon login: SMS code or Authenticator app.

Your Admins can define how your team authenticates on the 2FA prompt in Settings > Security > 2FA:

This change applies to all users within the workspace.

In this article, we include the steps to:

Set up the authenticator app as 2FA
Set up SMS code as 2FA

If you have trouble logging in, please see this article for the troubleshooting steps.

Set up the authenticator app as 2FA

Once Authenticator app is selected as the Login 2FA method, your workspace users will only need to follow 3 simple steps to set up their authenticator app the first time they log into your workspace:

  1. Open the authenticator app of your choice. Either scan the QR code or enter a setup key provided in the app. Here's an example of what it looks like:

  2. In Cledara, click Next.

  3. You will see a field to enter a one-time code. Check your authenticator app and enter the time-based code shown there. Then click Log In in Cledara to access your workspace:

In-app authentications and support requests verifications are still done through one-time SMS codes. Your users will still have to register and verify a phone number when they create their account.

Set Up SMS code as 2FA

As all users register and verify their phone number during the account setup process, no additional action is required to set it up.

Once SMS code is selected as the Login 2FA method, SMS codes will be sent to the registered phone number the next time your users log in.
