Why is my first digital wallet payment failing?

If you have just added your Cledara card to Apple Pay or Google Pay and your first transaction is declined, the issue is often a synchronisation error between the wallet provider and the card issuer.

Solution: Refresh your digital token

Sometimes, connection or verification errors do not surface immediately when a card is added. Even if the card appears active, the digital token used to secure the payment may be invalid.

To fix this, please follow these steps:

  1. Open your digital wallet, select the Cledara card, and delete it.
  2. Add the card back to your wallet from scratch. This forces the system to issue a fresh token and re-verify the connection.
  3. Attempt the transaction again.

When to contact Support
