Payment authentication provides an additional layer of authentication for card transactions, helping to protect against fraud.
When making payments with your Spend cards, both virtual and physical, you will be asked to complete verification so that your supplier can make sure that the payment is legitimate.
How to complete 3D Secure authentication online
- Enter the payment details as usual at the merchant's site, and complete your check-out.
- You will be redirected to a secure Visa portal and asked to enter the verification code sent to your registered number.
- On the next page, you will be asked one of the security questions you set up when you confirmed your card.
- Enter your answer in the box and click Submit to confirm the purchase.
How to complete PIN authentication in person
- Pass your physical card to the card machine.
- After a certain payment amount or frequency, you may be prompted by the card machine to enter your card PIN.
And that's it! You have verified the transaction, and your supplier will go on to process your payment.
